How does payment and booking work?
You are able to book with one of 3 different payment methods. “PAY IN FULL” is a 100% service payment via Stripe, that confirms your service will begin and be completed with no additional payment necessary. “PAY IN FULL + TIP” is a payment method that includes encompasses the “PAY IN FULL” method, while also allowing the client to donate an additional amount at their discretion to MADEBYJAE. “HALF-DOWN DEPOSIT” is a 50/50 payment structure. To lock in your spot and begin work, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required upfront via Stripe. The remaining 50% is due review the mix and before I send over your final, high-resolution files. You will receive an invoice for the final payment before proceeding.
What files do I need to send for a mix?
To get the best result, please send 24-bit WAV files at the same sample rate as your session. Ensure all tracks are:Aligned: Every track should start at Bar 1.Labeled: Clearly named (e.g., “Lead Vocal,” “Kick,” “Snare”).Dry/Wet: Send dry tracks unless an effect is vital to the sound.Headroom: Please make sure no tracks are clipping (hitting the red).
How many revisions are included?
Every project includes three (3) rounds of revisions at no extra charge. I want to make sure your vision is realized! If you need further tweaks after the third round, they are billed at $10 per round. This helps us keep the project moving forward efficiently.
What is the turnaround time?
I typically mix on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Your project timeline officially starts once your deposit is paid and your files have been verified as “ready to mix.” If I have to ask for re-exports, the timeline will shift accordingly. You can generally expect a response to emails within 24 hours during business days.
Do I own my music once it's mixed?
Yes. Once the final payment is cleared, you have a perpetual, non-exclusive license to use and distribute the mix however you like. I only ask for the right to use short excerpts in my professional portfolio to show my work, unless you request otherwise in writing.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Because I immediately allocate time and resources to your project, deposits are non-refundable once work has begun. If you need to reschedule, please give me at least 48 hours’ notice, and I will move you to the next available session at no extra cost.
